Hi Everyone!  I am Danil Ranchodas I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Desert Lions Sports!

My background resides in a 20+ year career in Management Consulting, Audit and Risk Management, having recently held a global role in major e-commerce company.
However I have recently abandoned my corporate career path to focus on something with long-term social impact and dedicate to a simple mission: Encourage Children to Love Sports and Healthy Habits!  

I was born and raised in Portugal and have played football and volleyball at different levels from a very young age.  I have always admired the value that sports bring to the personal development in children.  I was fortunate to have these opportunities and now I want start an academy that will provide the same opportunities to other children. We seem to be living in a fast world, where social media, technology tools and video games dominate the activities that our children occupy themselves with.  Physical activity is declining and my mission is to change that and share what I have learnt through Sports! I want to help shape the next generation to learn important values such as team work, discipline, mental strength, improved fitness and healthy habits and consequently those can form part of their development pillars as they grow.  

As a young athlete, I was always competitive but very emotional and that was a barrier for me to achieve the best version of myself.  I struggled to harness my competitive spirit and my emotions in a way that could not only allow me to succeed but also become a better person.  Dedicating myself to sports, receiving strong mentorship and meeting other athletes that struggled like I did was fundamental and helped me become stronger (not just physically but mentally too).
